Satakunta Museum is located beside Kokemäenjoki River near the
Kivi-Pori district. The museum is open Tuesday - Sunday 11.00 to 18.00
and Wednesday 11.00 to 20.00. The museum is closed on Mondays.
"The Satakunta rises from the water´s lap" and "The Course of life" exhibitions introduce our visitors to past and present times of the city of Pori and Satakunta region. Temporary exhibitions are held at the Sali and Kamari exhibition halls. You can also pre-book a guided tour.
The museum shop sells handicrafts from the Satakunta region, including ornaments, textiles, ceramics and glassware. Also on sale are games, old city maps of Pori and a wide range of books and literature. The shop shares the same opening hours as the museum.
The Museum Cafe is open Tuesday to Sunday 11.00 to 17.30 and serves lunches from Tuesdays to Fridays. The cafe and the adjoining convention room can be booked for small private events – ask at the cafe for catering bookings.
Satakunta Museum’s other branches include the Ark Nature Centre natural history museum (Pohjoispuisto 7), the Rosenlew Museum (Kuninkaanlahdenkatu 14) exhibiting Satakunta's industrial history, and The Renovation Centre Toivo (Varvinkatu 19) serves as the historical building restoration centre of Satakunta Museum.
