Port of Pori is the 2nd largest commercial bulk port in Finland with 4,8 M tonnes in 2007.

Two parts of the port

MÄNTYLUOTO HARBOUR

Mäntyluoto harbour is specialized in high and heavy project cargo. A new field of 2 hectares was finished in Oct. 2008 and it enables easy handling and good storage possibilities for all kinds of project cargo. The heave lift capacity is also expeceptionally good; the strongest harbour crane is located in the Port of Pori with capacity of 200 tonnes.

For container traffic, there is plenty of handling and storage space. The loading and unloading rate of ships is about 25 containers an hour.

Mäntyluocontainer traffic and heavy lift project cargo. Also bulk cargo like concentrates are being handled there in addition to sawn goods.

There is a modern plant for lengthsorting and packaging of timber in harbour.

Bulk is also being handled in the Mäntyluoto harbour. Four multipurpose cranes are used in the handling of different products, e.g. concentrates, shipped for the use of nearby industry.

TAHKOLUOTO HARBOUR

Approximately 1.5 million tons of dry bulk passes through
the Tahkoluoto deep-water harbour annually. The 15.3 meter draught allows maritime access for Cape-size vessels. The daily unloading capacity is approximately 30,000 tons. Reshipping is also possible.

The oil and chemical harbour operates in a separate area in Tahkoluoto. The annual traffic turnover is about 800,000 tons.
Freight traffic consists of different oil products and chemicals.
The area accommodates cisterns owned by private oil
and chemical companies.

A new quay was opened in the oil and chemical harbour late
October 2008. The quay allows for separating the flammable
and inflammable products, which therefore increases the
loading and unloading capacity as well as safety at the port.
Due to the new quay, the traffic at the oil and chemical harbour can be increased by about 1 M tonnes.
