Libraries are public services available to everyone. Everyone has the right to use the library’s collections, services, equipment and public spaces and to participate in events held in the library. The collections of the libraries, loans and reservations of material, library equipment, customer facilities and the professional expertise of staff are all available to customers free of charge.
The City of Pori offers library services in the main library, 10 branch libraries and a mobile library. The opening hours of the libraries and the schedule of the mobile library are announced at the library locations and on our webpages.
Pori City Library is part of the Satakirjastot library network. Satakirjastot network includes all public libraries in Satakunta region.
You need a library card in order to borrow material. The card is obtained by presenting an ID document with a photograph and giving one’s address in Finland along with other contact information. The library card of one of the Satakirjastot libraries is valid in all others. Card holders are responsible for material borrowed with their cards.
The web library https://satakirjastot.finna.fi/ is open 24/7. There you can see the materials of all the libraries belonging to Satakirjastot joint library. The web library can be used without logging in. However, to see your own loans, renew them or make reservations, require logging in with your library card number and PIN code.
If the material that you wish to borrow is located in another Satakirjastot library, you can make a reservation and material is transported free of charge to your nearest library. Borrowed material can be returned in any of Satakirjastot libraries.
