SuomiAreena festival takes over Pori next week

SuomiAreena, the largest societal discussion festival in Finland, brings together different people and important topics from social, economic and political issues. SuomiAreena’s leading thought is that everyone can participate in the discussions. Therefore all programme during the festival has free admission. SuomiAreena will be held in Pori from 11th to 15th July, and it will again act as an arena for democracy and freedom of speech. Here are our tips for the programme held in English.

As SuomiAreena is held simultaneously with one of the largest jazz festivals in Europe, Pori Jazz, next week will surely bring plenty of hustle and bustle to Pori. Seven different stages and other locations around Pori will host discussions, sporting events, cultural shows and children’s events across the week. Kansalaistori on the market square will host about 70 tents where various groups are presenting their own themes, actions and ideas. All SuomiAreena discussions are livestreamed and can be watched any time at mtv.fi. Full programme (in Finnish) can be found here and more information in English can be found here.
