City of Pori invites all residents to Love Day event next Monday
The Messukeskus space at Teljäntori will turn into a love central next Monday 26 January, as the city hosts a free Love Day for all Pori residents. The afternoon event between 15–18 o’clock promises plenty of things to warm up your relationship with Pori: dancing, friend-finding activities, bingo, and other fun things for the youngest members of the family too.
City of Pori’s values are love, courage, and openness. These values play an important role in helping the city’s population grow, keeping current residents happy in Pori, and attracting new people to move here.
At the heart of Love Day is all kinds of love: love for your hometown, your partner, your friends, and even yourself.
– A good and happy everyday life is one of Pori’s key strategic priorities and an important factor when choosing where to live. We hope people will come with open minds and brave hearts to brighten their Monday, says marketing expert Marika Virtanen.
Everyone is welcome to the event: come alone, together, with a partner, family, or friends. And best of all, you might even meet new people along the way. And since love is in the air, of course the kissing booth has been brought back to the Teljäntori inner courtyard, which is now open to the public again after many years. There will be hot cocoa served, so what could be better than grabbing a warm cup and exploring what the courtyard has to offer?
Throughout the afternoon, there will be both scheduled program and ongoing activity stations. The city’s sports services will kick things off with daytime dancing. Ohjaamo Pori will host a speed friending session to help people meet new friends. The event will wrap up with bingo.

Ongoing activities: hot cocoa, kissing booth, coloring station for kids, love poetry kiosk, Pori relationship confessions, a matchmaking wall for finding new friends or loves, and other surprises.
Love Day is part of the city fair Kaupunkimessut event. The event takes place at the Messukeskus space at Teljäntori (Yrjönkatu 15), with step-free access. No pre-registration is required.
