Vote for your favourite – residents of Pori decide how 60 000 € will be used

Earlier this year, residents shared ideas on what the city should do with 60 000 euros to increase people meeting each other. The city has prepared proposals based on the ideas and now residents get to vote on which ideas will be implemented.

You can vote online or on paper at all Pori libraries and at the central swimming hall. Voting is open until 27 May. One resident can vote for up to three proposals.

There is a total of 14 proposals. Proposals are:

  • Film Day (10 500 €)
  • Heavy metal night at Cultural House Annis (40 000 €)
  • Street floorball and/or street basketball tournament (15 000–25 000 €)
  • Seasonal lighting in Eteläpuisto Park (20 000 €)
  • Upgrading the wading pool in Kirjurinluoto (9 000–12 000 €)
  • Cherry Tree Park in Otsonpuisto Park, Kuninkaanhaka (7400 €)
  • Art picnic for babies in Kruunupää Centre for Children’s Culture (6000 €)
  • Community summer oasis on the Kävelykatu city promenade (23 000 €)
  • Board game space at the main library (7 000 €)
  • Series of nature excursions – the seasons of Pori (13 800 €)
  • Renovation of the skate park in Pormestarinluoto (60 000 €)
  • End-of-term celebration event (54 000 €)
  • Bridge dances at Eteläranta (5 000 €)
  • Panel discussion with YouTubers (11 000 €)

More detailed descriptions of the proposals and their implementation schedules are available on the participatory budgeting website.

The city will implement the proposals that receive the most votes and fit within the 60 000 euros budget. The winning proposals will be implemented during years 2026–2027.

The voting is part of the With Love for Pori participatory budgeting process. Participatory budgeting is a process in which residents propose ideas and decide, through voting, how a specific sum of money will be used.
