Kids Summer Party takes place next Monday in Raatihuoneenpuisto Park
On Monday, 15 June, from 9 am to 11 am, the city will host the Kids Summer Party in Raatihuoneenpuisto Park. The free event is open to everyone and features a variety of fun activity stations organised by the City of Pori and Unicef. During the Summer Party, the Satakunta Museum will also have free entry for the party participants.
The programme of Kids Summer Party is suitable for all ages, with activities especially well suited for children aged around 4–8. Throughout the day, the flagpoles in Raatihuoneenpuisto will display Children’s Rights art flags designed by local children and young people together with the Kruunupää Children’s Cultural Centre. The Kids Summer Party is organised to celebrate Pori receiving the Unicef Child Friendly Cities recognition for the third time.
– What better way to celebrate such a meaningful recognition than together with the city’s children! The party gives children the chance to enjoy a cheerful summer morning filled with activities designed just for them. At the same time, adults can learn more about the city’s services and children’s rights, says Annika From, The Child Friendly Cities Coordinator of the City of Pori.
A park full of fun activities
The event programme has been created together with various city services and Unicef volunteers. The activity stations in Raatihuoneenpuisto and the Satakunta Museum will be open from 9 am to 11 am, and visitors are welcome to explore them at their own pace.
To help avoid congestion, visitors are encouraged to enter the park from the Valtakatu Street side and leave via the corners of the park along Hallituskatu Street. Extra caution is requested from everyone travelling in the area during the event. Trained first-aid volunteers, event stewards and a designated meeting point will also be available on site.

Discover the Moomins at the Satakunta Museum
At the museum, visitors can see Tove Jansson’s unique, colourful and lively Moomin artwork Summer, Spring, Autumn. The artwork will return to Taikurinhattu Daycare Centre in the autumn, making this a wonderful opportunity to experience the painting before it leaves.
Children can also colour Moomin-themed pictures and take part in fun activities. If the museum becomes busy, there is plenty more to see and do. Families can play in the Pikku-Pekkala shop, drive toy cars around a 1938 map of Pori, or borrow a fun mini-backpack for a little adventure through the museum.
More information about the programme and the Kids Summer Party is available on the city’s website at pori.fi/lastenkesajuhlat. On the site, you can choose the language as English on the top of the page.
