Decision-making

The city’s highest decision-making body is the City Council, which is responsible for the city’s operations and economy.

The council elects the City Board, which is responsible for implementing the city’s administration and financial management in practice, preparing the council issues, overseeing the city’s interests and representing the city.

The committees and the boards steer and supervise the operations of the divisions and the municipal enterprises. The agendas and the registers of the city’s bodies are published in Kuntatoimisto service (in Finnish).

According to the Local Government Act, the Final Protocols of the officials are published in the general information network. They are available on our website (in Finnish).
